Artist Profile

I grew up in the American countryside, where drawing was a doorway to contemplate and expand the world around me. After pursuing fine arts for my undergrad, an innate curiosity led me to venture across the US, and overseas, working in Korea and Japan before moving to Qatar. Creating art is central in construing meaning within each place I live by focusing on its unique characteristics. What features give a place its identity and how individuals shape the cultural perspective of a place are compelling questions I consider through drawing the world and its people.
